Engine starts and runs smoothly. Will not rev over 3000 RPM though. Like it just stays in limp mode. I don't know what to do at this point.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Consistently the same.
How long has your 2000 Honda Accord had this problem?

On our 2000 Accord 4 cyl. we washed engine. Then all of a sudden we got P1361. Switched distributor out, then still same code. P1361. Finally found moisture in 4 pin connector on back of timing cover, cleaned out connector. So far, problem went away immediately. No more cutting out, no code either.
