Car has extremely poor performance, engine lacks power, transmission sluggish

Hello it sounds as if you have an engine performance concerned that needs to be diagnosed. Possible causes are a fuel system issue, an ignition spark issue, engine timing or compression issues, emissions issues, air intake issues or an exhaust flow issue. There is no possible way to know or guess what is going on until a hands-on inspection is performed. As far as transmission operation, I don't know how you can judge whether it's sluggish or not without addressing engine performance first.
