When I start my car it sounds like popcorn until it warms up

Open your hood before turning the car on, once you turn it on get out and put your hand on the air filter box. If it is unusually hot or feels like it is bulging or popping with the noise then you should take your car to a mechanic to check for a cracked head or faulty intake valve train operation.
