cruise control not working???

The cruise control system needs to see functionality of a few components before allowing it to work. Two items would be a brake light switch and a brake deactivation switch. If you have a failure in either circuit, the system will not allow it to set the speed. A diagnosis is in order to determine cause of failure. Check out this link for some shops near you... On my 98 Accord, the cruise control cable just popped off the throttle body because it had rusted and a little piece broke off. I just put it back on and wired it so it couldn't come off again. It is located at the back of the engine near the middle where the throttle cables also go. The symptoms were that if I put on the cruise control, the car would rev up and down very erratically and not stay at one speed.
