What is your question?
This is for a 1997 Honda Accord lx 4 cylinder model non vtec manual transmission. My question is when I turn the key to accessory or on or run position the dash glows as if the multifunction lever is in the fog light position, like the whole vehicle is acting as if the fog light position is on this is what it does. the front side marker lights turn on and as well as the rear side and back lights turn on as well even after starting the car they still don't turn off and when stepping on the brake pedal the rear lights do get brighter as well, also for the front of the vehicle only the bumper lights at the bottom work when using the turn signals they blink but not the side lights on the front. The rears do blink as well. is this normal for this vehicle as it does have a daytime running light system? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Hello! I'm Dusty, and I'm a proud member of RepairPal's Car Genius team. When it comes to the issue with your daytime running lights, there are a few important factors to consider. The multifunction switch handles the turn signals, headlights, and some other key stuff, it's possible that it may have failed internally, causing errant behaviors. If the fog lights are behaving strangely, a stuck or shorted switch could definitely be the culprit. It is critical to ensure that the electrical connections are secure and free of corrosion. Thoroughly inspect your car's ground connections, plugs, sockets, etc., for any signs of damage or corrosion. If the issues persist, I highly recommend seeking professional assistance for a comprehensive diagnosis and solution.
