temperature gauge heats up to almost red, no other signs of issues or leaks. if i turn heat on, it goes back down a bit. if i go downhill withough gas, it goes down as well

thanks, I think they are original parts. it was my dad's car... car only has 55k miles on it, though. should I start with one specific item? what would that be? the temp sensor?

Check timing belt, they last for 90k or 10 years, way over on time!! water pump should be changed at that time.
