That is the classic symptom of worn out cv joints. To fix it yourself you need to jack up the cars front end and look at both drive shafts - the rotating shafts extending from the center of the front wheels inward - there are flexible rubber boots at the cv joints, two per side, and the problem is usually with the shaft that has a broken boot, from which the grease has leaked out and dirt has entered, ruining it. They can go bad without a broken boot. I ended up replacing both shafts on a '93 Accord at $70 apiece for parts. Don't try to just replace the cv and boot - not cheaper and I'll never try to get another off the shaft. Other than common tools it takes a "pickle fork" or better two jaw puller and, I think 36mm socket (check that). This is a kind of advanced job so it shouldn't be one's first real wrenching.
