Check the fuel hose that goes from the throttle body to the charcoal canister. If its saturated with gas, it will run rich. Make a splitter and check that your 02 sensor is working. With a multimeter, connect a jumper and the voltage should go from .1-.9 volts. If it doesn't, its whats called a lazy 02 sensor. Either way, its busted and needs to be replaced. Also check that your timing is on the red mark on the crank, and not the white that is TDC. Verify the fuel pressure jumps approx 10 psi when the vacuum hose is pulled off of it. Should be at 36-49 PSI at idle when CONNECTED. If you have the throttle body injection with the green and brown injector, usually the cold start injector sprays gas down the throttle body. I have had to replace 1 ecu on the throttle body type, and none with the MPFI. Good Luck!
