When should ball joints and hub Assembly be changed in an 03 Yukon?what are the signs?

jack up the truck untill the front weels are off the ground about 3 inches and stick a sturdy non bendable piece of metal under the wheel and lift up and down gently. realy gently and if you see the tire shift up and down it needs new ball joints or needs more greese to be squeezed into the little bleeder pin on the side of the ball joint if i put some in and it pisses it out of the side of the boot then u need new ball joints
