my a/c went out can someone help me with the problem a/c light dont com on it blow from dash only and not the vents ac in the back blows but dnt get cold

My AC went out last summer in a 2003 Denali. The dealer wanted $1800.00 to replace, and flush the AC system. Midas quoted me around $600.00 for a reconditioned unit and repair. The trouble that you are having is likely the compressor, and you likely heard a light grinding sound as the problem worsened? A wrecker should be able to source a cheap replacement from a late model truck for less, if you do the work.
