What is your question?
I was told by my mechanic that the fuel filter is not serviceable and is an integral part of the fuel pump thus it cannot be replaced without replacing the fuel pump. Is this correct? I have also received advice that suggests it is replaceable an is located under the drivers seat under the vehicle. What is correct? Thanks, Army Ranger

2005 DOES NOT HAVE AN EXTERNAL FUEL FILTER, BUILT INTO THE PUMP MODULE. CONFIRMED HAPPY TRAILS.
G.T.Service Center, thanks much for getting back to me... I greatly appreciate your reply !!! Just to clarify and make sure I understand, the fuel filter is not serviceable without replacing the fuel pump correct? Thanks, Army Ranger
In 2005 is when they changed to an internal system, I would be very surprised if you had one. They use to put them on the inside of the frame under the drivers floor board area, on a curve in the frame. My wife had a 2005 Avalanche and I always maintain the fuel filters on my vehicles, and there was none on it. Many other 2005 and newer GM trucks have not had them. I did see an early model 05 Police Tahoe that had one.
Thanks!!
