I just bought a 2022 GMC Terrain SLE awd 1.5L. It only had one key fob. I purchased two new key fobs from ebay. They all programed ok. A few weeks latter one stopped working. I tried to reprogram it, but now both new fobs did not relearn. I used the program that erases all the fobs. I even disconnected the battery. The program shows teach fob 5. How can I erase all the fobs and relearn just three?

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your GMC Terrain. In order to be able to erase all key fobs from your vehicle and then relearn just the 3 you would like to teach in, this requires the use of a high end scan tool like what a shop or a dealer uses to reset the key fobs back to factory settings and then start over with teaching in the 3 that you would like to use. Most facilities will charge between a half hour and an hours labor to do this for you and in some cases may just reset it for you free of charge as I have heard of in some places. They can also quickly teach in the 3 fobs you would like to keep retained in the computer if needed. Unfortunately, I did not find or see a way myself to be able to reset all fobs without the use of the high end fully compatible scan tool being plugged into your vehicle data port.
