What is your question?
I started hearing a grinding noise from the right front of my car. Louder when swerving left, quieter when swerving right. Noise frequency goes up with vehicle speed (not engine). Was convinced it was a wheel hub bearing. After lifting the wheel off the ground... there is no play when tilting the wheel in any direction by hand. Took the wheel off and do not see anything visually from the outside. Could the bearing be making a noise and starting to fail without there being any physical play? Can the transmission or cv joints make this noise change when swerving from left to right. I can't think of another part of the front end that would have these exact symptoms. thanks in advance.
What makes this problem better or worse?
higher speed, turning left

Yes, noise can happen from a worn bearing that does not exhibit free play. I would start by replacing the affected bearing and rechecking operation. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
