Can the timing belt be repaired?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. You did not mention which engine your Terrain is equipped with, but I'm happy to share that both the 2.4L 4 cylinder and the 3.6L V6 engines in these vehicles are equipped with timing chains - not belts. As a result, I do not believe this is what is wrong with your vehicle. It is difficult too know, however, what is causing the vehicle to not start. I would get a different opinion from another shop where your concern can be evaluated independently.
