2012 terrain is stalling when you put in drive. This happens 2or3 times then drives normal.

Monitoring data about transmission gear position and engine performance components is essential when this happens. You may find that the torque converter clutch is staying engaged, for example. Or that your transmission is engaging 4th gear. Or that you have too much air coming into the engine at a lower idle speed causing a stall. Too hard to say without hands on / computer on testing.
