What is your question?
I recently replaced my ac compressor and clutch with a complete ac replacement kit and after installation by a mechanic I noticed a metallic raspy sound when the clutch is not engaged. Ac works fine but the plates on the clutch are scrubbing together loudly when the clutch is not engaged. How should I go about this? Could it be the belt too tight, faulty compressor and clutch assembly, or something else?
How long has your 1999 GMC Sonoma had this problem?

A "new" or "remanufactured" compressor kit that comes with clutch, coil and pulley already still must be properly set up and shimmed before installing. If not, clearances will be off and you'll have exactly the problem you are describing. Sounds like faulty installation by someone who doesn't know what he/she is doing. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
