Brake pedal stays down after applying the brakes on the 1997 GMC V6 vertex Sonoma. Also
The ABS systems comes on for no reason when braking and truck won't stop for a few seconds
Until I pump the petal fast a few times then it turns off. No leaks brand-new complete brakes on it.?
What makes this problem better or worse?
I need to shut off engine on turn back on and the petal comes back up.

It's quite odd that you'd have to pump brakes to get the pedal to come back up. It sounds more like a vacuum power brake assist issue than an anti-lock brake system issue. Hands on testing is needed to find out what is going on.
I always look for variables. If the problems started to occur after the brake work was done, I'd be looking at the parts replaced and the procedures performed to replace the parts. There must be some variable there influencing the situation negatively.
