Well reset the passcode by following my lock smith told me to do and was still having issues so a friend came over took him 5 hours but he got it started and it now is in limp mode for whatever reason... I have new battery fuel filter system cleaner does anyone now where the reset button is for the truck. Gm told me that the 2001 gmc 3500 didnt have a passkey but mine did and told me a few other things that were wrong so If anyone can tell me where the reset button is it would be great
I was told by people at auto zone and even at the ford dealership up here that on the back of the truck somwewghere near the gas tank there is a reset button that way if your truck gets rear ended it will let you limp off the road. or if there is another issue it will idle for you to take it to a garage... I reset codes today it gave me po841, po106, po300. so I found the vacume leak on the throttle body and the random miss fire is because it went into limp mode but the first one has to do with the tranny and not sure whats up with that . So i reset them now I have to drive it 50 miles and see if it continues to throw codes.I will get getting it registered this week so ill be able to drive it.
so,Autozone don't have a clue, then you took your chevy to a ford dealership? Ford is the only vehicle that has a fuel pump cut off switch in case of an accident(inertia switch),and it's in the passenger side kick panel.it will trip and cut off the power to the fuel pump, and all you have to do is push the red button down to reset it! chevy/ gmc do not have this, only ford products if you still have the P0300 random cylinder misfire and you keep driving it,then you will destroy the catalytic converter(s) if not already destroyed(diesel not included)you never said which engine you have?
Yes I agree with your reply. reset codes tomorrow driving down to get exhaust welded the rest of the way I reset the codes and it seems to be running fine. next week going to dmv and getting her registered and plated
