sat for a few weeks and now when I try to start it, It start for a sec then dies

. It will continue to do this. fires up like normal and runs for just a second. It has gas, the alarm is not engaged. The battery did die through out the weeks it sat, I think maybe the alarm went off over a weekend and it killed the battery. I have a brand new battery now. Same situation. I did try the trick of resetting the alarm in the steering column. and the passcode reset thing. Its possible I did not do it right, but then its possible that is not the issue at all. thanks!
