Truck steers eratic, pulling left and right, when in 4wd

What is your question?

Really hard to steer in 4wd. Would rather drive it in 2wd and take my chances then fight 4wd. Then have to drive it about a mile for it to disengage. Then you can hear it disengage with a thump.

HAVE FRT END INSP FOR WORN OR LOOSE SUSPENSION PARTS

The first thing I did was check the ball joints and tie rods... That all seems to be good...it may need shocks but don't know if that could create my problem, could it?
