Why does my a/c suddenly start blowing hot air from the driver side vents?

If the passenger side seems cool but the driver's side seems warm, often times the refrigerant system is low in charge to the point where it can't get cold enough across that distance. Have the system tested to see that it has a full charge, and then check for the source of any leaks that could have depleted the previously full charge.
