Hello, No problem, I'm glad to help. I do need to know if this is a manual or automatic transmission, and how long the grinding lasts. Also, what can you do to make the grinding quit? Please post back here, and I'll point you in the right direction.

When I start it, the noice begins, and as soon as I apply the brake pedal, it stops. 5 speed

Oh ok, does it ver sound like a squeeling or constant squeek noise? Does the noise happen no matter what you do unless the brakes are pressed? If so, my bet is that your brake pads are low, and the brake wear indicator is touching the brake rotor to make noise, and alert you that service is needed.
