No spark from the coil wire when removed from distributor cap/engine cranking..... Defective coil wire... Coil... Distributor 'assembly'...... Computer is the least likely suspect!!!!... Reply for testing info...
power to the coil..power to the ignition modual...power to the cam sensor...switched crank sensor/coil/cam sensor with working ones..new cap..coil and ign modual works in another vehical wont spark in van..scanner shows no communication with vehical...
That's quite a lot more info!!!!.. Have you tested the fuses, ALL fuses??... No communication does not mean the ECM is defective!!!... Fix power supply to ECM first!
the ecm fuse is good..usually the common problem is the dis gear is broken, but the rotor is turning.Im going to clean the connections on the computer then try to switch it out with another.all I did was park it and it wouldn't start the next day..thanks for any input
IF you try to replace the ECM, it has got to be exactly the same as the one in it now!!! That's EXACTLY the same... OR ... Will have to be flashed by GM dealer before it will work!!! In cases like this I always take a tester I have , test light will work, and test each and every fuse on the vehicle I can find, only takes a minute...then go from there... You'd be 'very' surprised how many I've fixed that way!! ..Good luck with the repair!
