cranks, no spark

Since you been doing shade tree a pretty good while, I assume you've tested for spark from all sources .. The pick-up coil is a replaceable part BUT it can be a real pain to do so, suggest distributor replacement as the shaft bushings have got to be worn as well ... Hint, the new distributor doesn't even have to be installed to test, simply hook up the wire connectors, turn key on, GROUND distributor housing and turn shaft while watching coil wire, should now see spark..
