I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy and my 4 low is randomly coming on and I can't go above 20 mph at all times. My 4 high will not come on at all. I just wanted to be in 2 high until I get the money to fix the problem. If anyone can send me a video or give me step by step advice that would be amazing!
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 1994 GMC Jimmy. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Allow enough time (couple seconds) for each transfer case selection to complete before making another selection - it’s not a piano!
Note: 4 WD LOW is rarely (if ever) needed - unless rock climbing or pulling a plow, well maybe it’s a bit different in Colorado.
Good luck!
Park on level ground - firmly apply parking brakes - have a helper turn key on and shift transmission into neutral then select 4hi - at same time someone lightly tapping on transfer case shift motor with small hammer or like tool MAY allow shift to complete..
Otherwise contact local auto repair facility for *hands-on* testing / repair.
