The flap door in the heater control will not come off defrost do you help?

There IS a vacuum leak under the hood, possibly a very small vacuum hose on passenger side going into the firewall .. Also a black plastic ball with a small vacuum hose attached to it may be leaking vacuum - and without proper vacuum - defrost is the default mode. (This systems air direction mode selector is vacuum controlled!)
