speedometer not working odometer works

What is your question?

1990 GMC G2500 Vandura. Changed out speed sensor on transmission. No change. Odometer works all the time. Speedometer works after driving for 15 to 20 minutes and then restarting engine. No error codes.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Let it worm up and drive for 15 to 20 minutes and then restart and it will work.

How long has your 1990 GMC G2500 had this problem?

Bought the van used. Problem existed already.

SPEEDOMETER itself has failed.

Same thing drives the odometer - so evidently it’s working! OBD 1 scan tool will prove it - but that really isn’t necessary.
