The best advise we can give you is to avoid topping up the system if it is low. This is the time of year where we perform the majority of Air Conditioning system recharges, but there are some important things to avoid. 1- Avoid anyone who suggests topping up your low system because you can do severe damage to your system if it is overcharged. 2- Avoid anyone who recommends injecting a system "leak-sealer", as many of these products are incompatible with your a/c system and may even void warranties due to the mess that they create internally. 3- Air conditioning systems require a licensed technician to service them. Anyone who treats this service like this is a routine oil change is not serving you or your vehicle. It requires a thorough inspection of the vehicle's engine cooling system also. 4- Just because the air conditioning system is not blowing out cold air does not mean this automatically involves a "recharge" or "repair" of some kind. There are many factors that a trained a/c certified technician will look at in addition to determining just how much refrigerant remains in your system, if any. Bottom line- Are they ASE certified and what does their existing clientele think about their service experience. For the record, we have earned the highest marks in either category in this regard. We look forward to the opportunity to earn your business and may be reached at (248)307-1200 thanks you, Interstate Auto Care team
