Gate Ajar light after replacing actuator

What is your question?

I replaced the liftgate actuator on my 04 GMC Envoy and now I get a "Gate Ajar" light. Where should a I start to troubleshoot this? Wires dont seem to be loose, everything looks properly connected.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Where did you get the actuator from? Is it a new, genuine GM part? Why was the actuator replaced in the first place?
