Transmission on 2013 gmc denali replaced at 100,000 miles. Not even a month later while in idle, car overheats and battery starts overcharging at the same time. We replaced the coolant sensor, thermostat, water pump, battery and alternator. We had a pressure test on the cooling system. No leaks. Coolant is fine and been burped. The fans are working properly. It is still over heating to 240 when driving. Battery still overcharge.
How long has your 2013 GMC Acadia had this problem?
A few weeks.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! This calls for an exorcism, not a mechanic! Seriously, that's a strange set of symptoms. Given the recent transmission replacement and subsequent overheating issues, it's worth considering if there's any connection between the two. Transmission work can sometimes involve coolant lines or other components that may have been disturbed during the replacement process. Ensure all connections related to the transmission and cooling system are secure and properly functioning. We definitely don't want the coolant and transmission fluid mixing! Check for any signs of coolant contamination in the transmission fluid or vice versa. With the overcharging, I wonder if the ground was left loose when the transmission was replaced. It would be worth checking that as a first step. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554! We'll gladly find you a certified RepairPal shop in your area!
