it can run good for days and then it feels like it cuts off a few seconds numerous times after a while it runs good again ,when it does this it gets hard to start and keep running no pattern to it at all

Have you had a lot of rain or power-washed under the hood lately? When is the last time it has had new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor? The 3 cylinder engine is very sensitive to misfires, it sounds like you have a multiple misfire condition. I would recommend checking the wires, plugs, and distributor cap. If you find moisture in the distributor cap then you have most likely found your issue. Let me know how it goes.

it is very rapid at will turn off at a stop light I can restart it but have to do it a few times then when I try to move it will cut off again it appears like the shift light comes on most of the time when it does this, it will run fine for a few days and then it will start doing this again and after I drive it maybe 20 miles or so it runs good again maybe stutters occasionally until it starts doing that again never noticed a rattling under the seat
