I've replaced the battery, the alternator and the starter. Still wont even turn over , yet I have power inside, Lights etc, I only have the gauges on the dash for a split second then the fuse blows again. I'm lost.
How long has your 2001 Ford Windstar had this problem?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Sounds like your Windstar is throwing a temper tantrum that rivals a cliffhanger ending. Blowing a 30-amp starter fuse is typically a sign of a short circuit somewhere in the starting system. You've already replaced the usual suspects—the battery, alternator, and starter—so it's time to dig deeper. First, check all the wiring connected to the starter circuit. Look for any frayed wires, exposed metal, or loose connections that might be shorting out. Pay special attention to the wiring near the starter motor, as it can rub against metal parts and wear through the insulation. Another possibility is that the starter relay is faulty. When it goes bad, it can create a short and cause the fuse to blow. Also, the ignition switch could be misbehaving, causing a surge in the starter circuit. If you're still scratching your head after checking these areas, it might be worth bringing in a pro.
