when I remove the bolts that mount the starter, do I have to twist the starter to get it off. ?
There is two different engine sizes available in that year, but I will try my best. Did you remove all three mounting bolts? The starter solenoid does prevent it from removing easily, so a little "twisting" is needed to remove it.
