car starts very high idle then very rough idle very rich running smell in exhaust

the problem just started got to a traffic light on the way home car was idling very low. The next day I started car the rpm's about 1600 for several seconds then drops suddenly to almost dying and sounds as if I put a mid grade cam in it with a very rich running smell coming from exhaust when I step on pedal it accelerates ok but then right back to a very rough idle any possible ideas to look for? also noticed the Supercharger boost gauge is around -10 now at the rough idle when normal it was about -20 at idle

What makes this problem better or worse?

Highway speeds the car ran fine but I have not driven it since rebuilding the front end,ie, rack and pinion replaced with inner outer tie rods
