A friend just put new front breaks on. The pedal seems to push low to the floor for new breaks. I checked the fluid, it's full, but has a bad smell.

It may take a while for the brake pads to "bed" into the rotors/brake discs. Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air naturally and should be flushed if it becomes dark or every two years.
Its been years since the brake fluid was changed. Couldn't even find it in my notes! Pads were also changed at the same time, I forgot to mention. Thank you for your input! I'll take care of that next week! Do you have a garage? I'm not all that familiar with how this site works.
