if i put a 90 tempo in drive and rock the car, will the moter turn,

i believe the starter is jammed , tried to start on a clod morning and she cranked a little then stopped , since then i just get a thunk when i turn the key, think its is from the starter

it ran great the day before then just did a little crank and died, thought it need a jump , but nothing wonder, what would lock up motor ?
