Car jerks while accelerating. No check engine light on. What could this be? Idles fine. Car has only 49000 miles on it. The Ford dealer said transmission. $8000 for a new one.

Hello, definitely could be transmission related. If you have intermittent hydrauilc concerns internally, engagement of gears could come and go causing jerking.
