My 2010 ford Taurus has a flashing check engine with a number 2 misfire code. I replaced the spark plug and it idles great. But anything driving over 40 it knocks.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Taurus. A flashing check engine light indicates a severe misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. Since you've already replaced the spark plug, the knocking at higher speeds might point to issues like a faulty ignition coil, fuel injector problems, or even carbon buildup in the engine. It's also worth checking for vacuum leaks or compression problems in cylinder 2, as they can cause similar symptoms under load. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
