What is your question?
my cooling fan went out I took my car to a licensed mech. shop. after his diagnosis he recommended new cooling fan assembly which he replaced, Iwas then told it still was not working. he then reccomended i take it to a ford dealer for possible PCM thatonly the dealer can install and code. Imade an appointment with ford dealer but that wont be untill next week. I realize i should not drive it at all but I had to drive it home from shop and i will need to drive it again for very short trips and again to the ford dealer. my question is can i screw up the new cooling fan assembly which is still hooked up by driving it ?

Hello, you'll harm the engine by driving it without a cooling fan working properly. The PCM is almost never the cause of a failure, by the way. I'd utilize your Ford dealership's expertise to properly diagnose your vehicle's concern. Has a diagnostic tool been enlisted to active command the cooling fan on and high / low speeds? Have you verified recorded engine temperature? Too much to ask, and much to doubt. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
