What is your question?
I have a 2006 Taurus SE with 91K miles and a 3.0L engine. It started with a sticking throttle a few months ago and has grown into a larger problem. When I hit the gas, there is a jerking or repeated hesitation. I have checked the tranny fluid and it is good and at the proper level. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
The check engine light just came on this morning. What else would you like to know?
Get a free read of the code at an Autozone and post the result on here to further assist you. Usually, the codes tell the tale.
I had the check engine light checked today. Turns out it needs a tune-up and an ignition coil on #3. Thanks for the help.
Glad it worked out for you!
It worked but, due to the three hours labor called for on the ignition coil, it will cost almost $800 for plugs, wires and an ignition coil... Ouch!
You can DIY for a lot less. Bringing it to me would be quite a drive. https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=Ajq0sPkHnJdqOWer4kex4dObvZx4?p=how+to+replace+2006+ford+taurus+spark+plug+ignition+coils&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-745&fp=1
So... I have to decide if I really need the ignition coil pack. When I pull the plug wires off (one at a time) they all spark. However, when I remove two of them, the engine does not shake. Could that indicate that the ignition coil pack is working and I need to replace the plugs and wires? Any thoughts?
Should have you drive it to me.......too bad you are so far away lol! $800 dollars is a ripoff for this type of job. Replace the plugs only first and see if that fixes the issue.
Actually, I replaced the ignition coil pack myself in about 5 minutes for about $100. Works great now. Thanks to all.
