I have been told that I need a catalytic convertor and they are charging me over $600. Is this a good price or should I look to trade my car in?

I'd get a second opnnion. I've seen them alot cheaper than that.

On the 2005 taurus, there are 3 convertors. I had all of mine replaced for $685 with tax. You might ask if they are replacing 1 or all for that price.
