Timing chain cover leak

What is your question?

I have a small oil leak coming from the timing chain cover on my 04 taurus (dohc). How costly should this repair be and are there any other components I should replace while this is being repaired? Also, is this common on the Taurus? I just put 46k on this vehicle. Thanks!

This is common and I would do the seals, the belt(s) and the water pump while you are at it. The timing cover has a large gasket which fails so replace this. Make sure that your timing cover is still good enough to re-install. Sometimes they get pitted and need to be replaced as well.
