when do you replace fuel pump? garage says codes indicate needs one.

there is no code for the pump. the pump circuit, yes. the fuel pump has no time interval. needs to be changed when it fails. Roy

i agree with mastertech, there is no "code" for the fuel pump.. Best way to check is to request your shop place a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel port under your hood.. Injected motors REQUIRE certin pressures to work propely.. If your fuel pump is NOT producing the proper pressure your car WILL not act right, it could be as simple as a clogged fuel filter, but after what I just went through with my camaro,, turned out to be the fuel pump....
