What is your question?
I really just want to know if it is normal for a starter to go bad in less than 3 years?

Is it normal, no. Does it happen, yes. Unfortunately we are somewhat restricted by the quality of parts that are available. I've had good and bad re-manufactured parts from the same and different suppliers. I would recommend speaking with the shop that installed the starter. It's possible they can get the part warrantied and just charge labor, but that all depends on the quality of repair shop that did the work. Thanks Kyle
Thank you for your response. How long should a new starter on a 2002 Ford Taurus last? Thank you .
Well assuming it was an OEM on your car that originally failed, it would of lasted about 10 years from the factory. I would like to assume our parts will last longer then 5-7 years but it really depends on how the vehicle is driven. For example, lots of in town driving where it's getting started 10 times a day versus driven once a day and only started that 1 time.
