Can someone please tell me where the egr pressure senser is located on 02 taurus

This answer was supplied by "dand" on a recent repairpal question for an 01 ford: exhaust gases, not vacuum )lines attached to it and an electrical connector. The lines go to and from the exhaust system and they transmit back pressure to the sensor. The sensor is called the DPFE or Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Sensor ( a mouthful ). Why are you replacing it? Do you have a code for it? Look for the DPFE near the valve, that is where Ford places it. It is usually within 6-12 inches. Can you make the engine die when you apply vacuum to the valve with a vacuum pump? I ask this, because the X401 code series means insufficient EGR flow, which can be a defective DPFE ( very likely ), defective vacuum solenoid and/or plugged passages.
ok.... this has me puzzled, there is a missfire in the number six cyl. replaced back pressure senser was told it was bad. replaced plug, was told when I bought it that it had new plugs wires, coil pack, and plugs. Could the egr valve cause a missfire in one cyl? Or am I needing to replace coil pack??
Since the egr valve needs vacuum it typically gets it off the intake and is supplied by one of the runners of the intake so yes it can cause a misfire on one cylinder if there is a vacuum leak, have checked at a qualified shop.
