What is your question?
We have had problems with acceleration and shift. When it finally quits accelerating and does nothing when you push on the gas, we have to pull over, take off the cables from the battery, short them together and put the cables back on the battery. The car then works. I need to know what part or parts is causing this and how much will it cost to replace it or can I replace it myself? Thanks!

first of all, shorting them together damages the pcm. you may have already destroyed the pcm. you need a shop to diag it for you to see what he original issue is. make sure you give them all he info you gave us here. by the way, who told you to short the cables together?? Roy
I've had this problem off and on for several years and the Firestone shop I took it too said I didn't have any problems. One of the most disturbing features of this acceleration or deacceleration issue is that sometimes my car acts as though it has cruise control and it doesn't......accelerating all of a sudden or braking while on the highway. I had a mechanic tell me that shorting the cables would "reset" the chip and it has but we wonder how long we can reset it before something has to be replaced and how much it will cost. Don't know what chip it is but diags aren't finding it.
