What is your question?
No sounds heard , thinking it maybe a bad rotor button or distributor. Need some in put.
How long has your 2001 Ford Taurus had this problem?

No, if there's no engine cranking, it can't be the distributor or rotor -- at least initially - causing the problem. Hands on testing is needed. The starting system should be addressed, starting with testing the engine's battery for state of charge and the ability to sustain a load, the battery cables should be clean and free of corrosion and connected securely, the starter motor should not need excessive amperage to crank the engine, and the engine has to be physically able to turn manually with a breaker bar and socket, even.
