CD Changer in trunk, HELP!!!!!!!!!

What is your question?

I just bought a 1998 Taurus that has the Compact Disc changer controls on the radio but no changer in the trunk. I found one that will work but when trying to install it I can't find the 12-pin plug that is suppose to be in the trunk somewhere. I am confused, most the people I have talked to say if it has the CD controls on the radio then the car is wired to accept a CD changer. Does anyone know for sure? Where can I find out? I called the Ford dealership and they said they didn't have any info on it because the car was over ten years old! YEAH RIGHT!!!!
