did you replace the belt? is the belt cracked? typically most of your screeching will come from a slipping belt or a bad tensioner, if the belt is in very good repair try spraying on belt dressing that's what I did and it helped
Thanks, however,I replaced the serpentine belt, tensioner, water pump, and checked all the pulleys and it still screeches.I (sugested by a well meaning person)dripped soapy water on the s.belt while it's running again.and the screeching stopped for a few seconds, but returned as loud as ever.???
do you have ac? my old 92 had a bad pully on the ac and it was seized and it was causing the same issues, sorry to sound repitious but sometimes ya gotta go piece by piece, make sure the pulleys that spin on a part have no side to side movement as this will cause the noise, and belt dressing is better than the soapy water trick (sometimes it takes the noise away for good). If all the pulleys look good make sure they are not missing any of the groves that the belt sits on as this will cause slipping which in turn will cause your screeching noise. Hope this helps
