I have a 2011 ford ranger xlt 4.0 with 76000 miles on it and noticed that it was Idling rough and a ticking noise on the passenger side cylinder 1 I have changed the plugs and wires fuel filter and it still has a rough idle and the ticking noise won't go away it does quite down after it warms up but is still there I cant see it being a bad lifter at only 76000 miles but cant figured out what else it could be there might be a vacuum leak for the rough idle but the check engine light is not on though it may not come on please help I'm at the end of my rope I don't want to put off something that might get worse
How long has your 2011 Ford Ranger had this problem?

Hello, this is a 4.0L SOHC V6 -- so it has camshaft rollers. I have seen the overhead cams make noise when for some reason the roller is not receiving proper oil - first ensure you have a quality Motorcraft oil filter and proper grade of engine oil. This can help initially. Other than that, work in the area of the cam rollers may be required. Have you performed.a compression check?
